Registration will open at 7.00am on the day. The first riders will depart at 8.30am.
The Riser consists of three routes of 47 miles, 84 miles and 105 miles.
What can I expect from the routes?
The Meon Valley and its surrounding area is a haven for cycling enthusiasts. The rolling hills in the South Downs make for some spectacular scenery and the area is filled with interesting history. At the top of Old Winchester hill are the remnants of an old Iron Age fort, and old churches and villages litter both routes. At times you’ll forget that you’re only a stones throw away from the major cities of Southampton and Portsmouth.
The routes have been designed to encounter as little traffic as possible, and there are minimal miles on bigger roads. In places the routes narrow to single lanes and extra care will need to be taken on these sections. Overall both of the Riser courses take in some challenging hills, but with rewarding views and descents. We appreciate that while riders are looking for a challenge, you also want to be able to enjoy yourself
£30 for the 84 and 105 mile routes (or £27 if you book before 25 December 2014)
£27 for the 46 mile route (or £25 if you book before 25 December 2014)
What do I get for my money?
Breakfast, tea and coffee before setting out
Fully stocked feed stations
Lunch after you’ve completed your ride
Full SAG Wagon support
Free on-site car parking
An exciting and exhilarating day in the saddle on a meticulously planned route!
What is the maximum number of riders?
We are very fortunate to have the awesome George Burgess and his team on hand to take shots of each rider en route. Photos will be available to purchase soon after the event and will be displayed on the Riser website. To see examples of George's photography please visit his website.
I'm travelling from far away and need accommodation
If you are travelling from far away to take part in the Riser then you will probably be looking for accommodation. There are some lovely hotels and B&B's in the area and we recommend that you visit i-know Hampshire for further information.
