The Riser consists of two routes – a shorter route of 47 miles or a more demanding 84 mile course.

A full and detailed route card will be given to each rider on the day. We recommend that riders study the route prior to the event. Each course will be fully signed with arrows to point you in the right direction and at no point should you have to refer to the route card while en route. It is purely there for you as a contingency.

We have designed the Riser routes so that riders spend as little time as possible on A roads, and we are sure you will be pleased as a result of this careful planning. There are however a few points where you will have to cross busier roads. These sections will be marshalled by our staff who will be wearing high visibility jackets to help pre-warn you.

You will experience minimal traffic on your ride, but we like to remind riders to take care when approaching bends and blind spots on the smaller roads, as there is always a possibility of on-coming cars in the middle of the road.

If you get into difficulty on the day then you will find a contact number to call on the back of your rider number which will be tied to your handlebars. If you find that you can no longer carry on then we will come and collect you.

Prior to the event you will receive an email containing full briefing notes informing you of everything you need to know. We aim is to make this experience as hassle free as possible; leaving you get on with what you enjoy most – riding your bik
